Alison SummersBell's work plays with the materials of place, both as a method of exploring and in the material quality of a specific site. Place for Alison comes from a direct experience of her relationship to a location’s topography, geology and cultural histories. Her intervention into it adds to these inherent qualities and complexities and include drawing, touching, and walking as she explores site narratives alongside her studio practice.

Alison’s practice is in contemporary painting, having completed her MA Painting in 2022 and subsequent to a BA (Hons) degree in Fine Art (First Class) in 2013. She currently lives and works in Bournemouth, Dorset and at SpudWorks, Sway, New Forest.
